Our Story
"I knew I could not let this one get away!"
Eric's mom and I actually worked together, and she tried to get me to meet her son. But it was just not the right time. Then TWO years later I was working a football game, and his DAD introduced us. (His dad was a coach at the school I was teaching at during that time.) I took one look at him and knew that I could not let this one get away! My best friend happened to be there that night, and I looked at her and said, "I am going to MARRY THIS GUY!". Of course she thought I was crazy and she laughed, but a year and half later... here I am planning a wedding to the man of my dreams. I guess moms really do know what they are talking about!
"And That Is How You Surprise Someone!"
It all started when I was planning a 30th surprise party for him. I had been planning the party for several months all the while he had been looking for "THE RING"! (Of course I had NO clue.) He decided to have one made because he could not find just what he was looking for. When the ring came in he told his mom that he wanted all of our family and close friends there. She was torn because she did not want to tell him about the party, but yet what a perfect opportunity with EVERYONE there. So she told him. But only his Mom, Dad, and Sister knew about his little plan. In the meantime, Eric received my dad's blessing when they went golfing one weekend. When we got to the party he pretended like he was surprised. After saying "hi" to everyone he asked me to see his cake. I looked at him confused and said, "Oh Honey it is just a plain yellow cake with chocolate icing. (I know YUCK, but that is his favorite.) He insisited we look at it, and I thought well this is his party... if he wants to see his cake then so be it. As I opened the cake, I noticed that it had pink icing, and that it did not say Happy 30th Birthday. After getting a little upset, that some idiot had messed it up, I began to read it to myself. "Will You Marry Me - Will You Marry Me - Will You Ma..., and then it dawned on me what the cake said! I turned to find my "Mr. Wonderful" on one knee holding his hand out to grab mine. As I looked at him my eyes filled with tears.... And I just said YES over and over. He jumped up and threw his arms around me. I could not believe it! This would be the Beginning of FOREVER! :)
